Kyaa Super Comedy Hain?

The first trailer launch of Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (KSKHH) was held at a suburban hotel in Mumbai on Tuesday. The cast did attended the event but they turned up three and half hours late. Not Kool! Worse, the invite promised a pool party but the late arrivals played spoilsport, with Tusshar failing to turn up at all. Here’s what the director and cast had to say about the film…

Director Sachin Yardi: The story is about two guys, Tusshar and Ritesh. Tusshar plays a struggling actor who dreams of becoming a top-notch actor one day. But as a struggler, he models for ads for teleshopping products. Ritesh plays a struggling DJ, jiski saade sati chal rahi hai and he dreams of visiting Amsterdam some day and being a DJ for rave parties. He ends up playing at Gujarati rain dances and Sindhi birthday parties. Finally, they meet the girls and what follows forms the crux of the story.

Yardi on using sex to sell the film

The film has been labeled as a ‘sex comedy’ and the wackiness takes the film into a different zone. And we are not using sex to sell the film. It’s the wackiness, craziness that takes it to a different level.

Riteish Deshmukh: It’s a comedy for adults above 18. Actually, it’s a super comedy.

Riteish on working in sequels: I have been working in almost every sequel coming out of my films, I did Double Dhamaal and now shooting for the Masti sequel and KSKHH. Kyaa Kool Hai Hum was my first comedy and because it did so well, the other comedy films started coming my way.

Riteish On The Gap

We took so long to come up with the sequel because we didn’t want just a sequel, we wanted something better. Sachin wrote the script and, this time, he is directing the film too. After many rejections, Ekta finally liked this script and I too loved it. I think whenever you make a sequel, you expect something bigger and better, and this film is ‘bada hai aur behtar bhi’.  We are working with Anupam Kher once again and, this time, we have two new actresses, Neha and Sara, who are great. Our comic timing matched.

Riteish on comparisons

It’s different in its own way. We took seven years to approve the script. It’s unique and the jokes are not repetitive. The humor and the way the film is presented are different. And, of course, we have two new girls in the film.

Neha Sharma: We had a lot of fun. Everyone has done a great job.

Sarah Jane Dias: My take is a little different – it’s a serious film. We didn’t have any fun time, and it’s a family film.
